Are FlipFix panels fire rated from both sides?

Unfortunately not, our FlipFix panels are fire rated from the panel face (room side) only.

However, we do offer a range of bi-directional fire rated access panels that you will not find on our website.

Are FlipFix panels fire rated for insulation?

Unfortunately not, FlipFix's access panels are fire rated for integrity only.
This means that flames will not pass from the room side to the other.

However, do offer a range of access panels that are tested for both fire integrity and insulation, that you will not find on our website.

What is the required structural opening? 

With our FlipFix range of access panels, we recommend that the structural opening (the hole in the ceiling or wall) is made 5mm bigger than the access panel size i.e a 0300 x 0300 access panel would require a structural opening of 0305x0305. 

Our stock panels arrive securely in fully-recyclable packaging, part of which is a pop-out template.
This allows you to accurately mark your surface for cutting.

For bespoke sizes, simply add 5mm to the panel's height and width to mark your hole. (No template will be included within the packaging.)

Our stock access panel's have a 20mm picture frame (25mm on bespoke). This will help to hide minor irregularities made when cutting, and fit flush to the surrounding surface.

Can they be painted over?

Whilst our access panels could be painted over, we do not recommend it.

We powder coat our access panels in RAL 9010 30% gloss white.
Should you apply another layer of paint, the final finish may not meet your expectations.

Should you require a custom colour, please contact us directly or fill out a price form on the home page and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can . You can request a custom RAL, or a primed finish allowing the panel to be decorated once installed.

Do you ship to my country? 

Our website won't allow orders to be placed outside of the United Kingdom.

If you are ordering from, or would like delivery to a non-UK address, please contact us with the following information and we will get back to you:

  • Product required

  • Size of access panel & Quantity

  • Your contact details

  • Delivery address and country

Please allow us one working day to provide you with a quote.
Any VAT, import duties or customs admin fees must be paid for by the customer unless agreed otherwise.

Can I choose a specific delivery day/time?

For timed deliveries, such as pre-12pm, we ask that you provide this information in the order notes and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

We may request additional payment to cover the increased courier costs.

What plasterboard depth will a FlipFix clamp attach to?

The FlipFix clamp will attach to plasterboard and masonry with a thickness ranging from 8mm to 32mm.

Fixing holes are located on all panels allowing them to be screwed into place* if required.

*Not suitable for fire rated panels in a ceiling application.

Can I swap the lock and use my own?

Unfortunately not.
